Berlusconi calls George Clooney to his defence

Richard Jukes

Bunga Bunga!

The man is a rather rich chap who has built up his empire of several decades. If he wants to have bunga bunga parties then so be it. Its the moment that he starts being a dictator that we need to Bunga Bunga him.

W**k-O-Meter

Richard Jukes

Heh

It should have been released on the iPhone, the potential market there is massive.

Five jailed for £140m VAT scam

Richard Jukes

heh

This is just the surface, so so much missing trader VAT frauds went on in the 90's and the early naughties it must be nigh on impossible for HMRC to sort it all out.

USB key to 4,000 vulnerable people's front doors lost

Richard Jukes

heh

"Mine is pretty beefy - would taken some effort to break it open, if anyone could find it in the first place."

I bet it wouldnt last five minutes with a cordless angle grinder. Indeed I bet it wouldnt last five minutes with tin snips !

Richard Jukes

These

These would be the same key boxes that look like they are made out of plastic at worst or at best really thin steel? Secure aint they.

Chinese man jailed for provoking nuke panic

Richard Jukes

Heh

Who wants to bet the rumour was started by the CEO of the major Salt companies?

Vince Cable to cut training and flexible work rules

Richard Jukes

yay

Less red tape is needed, do you know how hard is to sack someone? If they are incompetent an employer is currently obliged to retrain them. It doesnt matter that they may be as thick as pig shit or are unwilling to learn - its down to the employer to get them up to scratch.

Yay for the Tory's and their moderating Lib Dem lapdogs!

iPad 2 sales kick off in dead of night

Richard Jukes

nah

Nah, we just dont like Apple. Or articles hyping up the release of a pointless tech gadget.

Direct action group defaces Vodafone in tax avoidance protest

Richard Jukes

Indeed

I quite agree with you Vladmir, what they are doing is entirely legal. Wrong, but legal. Not their fault if the law is wrong is it?

Dentist cuffed for using lost credit card to pay for pizza

Richard Jukes

Ah!

"the real crime #

Posted Wednesday 9th March 2011 14:03 GMT

Is that two pizza's cost over $40.

Mon dieu."

Indeed it is a crime that they cost that much, perhaps that was the reason why he used a card he had found - free pizza always tastes better!

Plextor PX-L611U portable DVD writer

Richard Jukes

Plextor still rock

Its nice to see Plextor still making CD drives, its what they were very good at back in the day. I use a CD drive possibly once a year now, and thats to install OS media. CD's are dead, hell even DVD's are on their way out. Long live the USB HDD!

Blind man excels at videogames

Richard Jukes

wow

Just as I gain confidence in myself and start to think that I havent done so bad, along comes a blind kid whos; better at video games than me, better at fighting than me, better at playing the guitar than me and not to mention the chap is studying for an aerospace engineering course. I bet he's got a hotter misses than me too, and that is just wasted on him!

It makes me feel very inadequate! Imagine what the kid could do if he could see...

Kudos to him, and in all fairness he should make the rest of us feel ashamed for not embracing life to the uptmost!

Radiohead surprises fans with early online album release

Richard Jukes

spiffing

I've never really listened to radiohead, but I think I may just give them a chance now - seeing as they are releasing stuff online for a nice price and then also offering a nice collectors edition physical album.

Yay for innovation in the music industry. This is how albums of the future should be released.

Inventor of the Workmate dies

Richard Jukes

Shame

Great inventor.

Pitiless teen burglar murders three witnesses

Richard Jukes

The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.

Gotta hand it to the criminals, they dont like to leave anything to chance. But just how did they get caught?

What sealed Nokia's fate?

Richard Jukes

RE Asdf

Ig Index - sign up for them, its not really share trading - is is spread betting, but it is tax free. Nokia are already in my 'to watch' portfolio. As are Arm and TomTom (they have doubled since I started watching them!)

Boffin breakthrough doubles Wi-Fi speed

Richard Jukes

eh

No flux capictor? I say its a fake! Everyone knows it needs a flux capacitor.

Police hit delete on DNA profiles

Richard Jukes

hmm

What happens if a person accepted a caution? Will their DNA be retained?

Humanity's stored data measured in CDs to the Moon

Richard Jukes

Erm?

11 years? Really? From 1986 to 2007? That would make me 14. Sweet!

Facebook tagged with $60bn valuation

Richard Jukes

heh

Sure, its worth 60 billion. I mean by now there surely have been around 60 billion invested in it.... Just because I spend £50k on an old bangor dropping a big engine in and making it shiney, does not make it worth £50k - its still the same old pile of shit.

Facebook are over valued, they have no real source of income hence all these 'Rounds of funding' that have to occur each year. Its a ponzi scheme. How many rounds of funding did google have? Two. $100k to start with and $25m once they have proven the concept. How many has facefuck had? One a year?

Albuquerque shopper samples free man oysters

Richard Jukes
Joke

Erm!?!

Misogynist is a big word.

What is clear to me is that this woman should have drank it all up like any other good woman! Special man juice should not be wasted if at all possible. I mean really, whats she complaining about? Its not like he spurted it in her eye...

AOL buys Huffington Post

Richard Jukes

eh?

What an over vaulation. $300m for a website that I havent really heard of before let alone used. They report nothing of any use and quite frankly I cannot see why anyone would spend $300m for a website that is probably not even turning a profit on the bandwidth to ad ratio - let alone one that cannot be monetized.

I bet the Huff Post blew their load when they heard AOL were chucking money away like this. Where does AOL get all this money from? Surely the pot must be empty by now?

Fujitsu hails first bio-mouse

Richard Jukes

Great idea

Fujitsu should be congratulated for going down this route, sure it wont make a big difference but it is a start.

Duke Nukem Forever release date revealed

Richard Jukes

Preorder?

So, who here is going to be parting with their hard earned cash on a pre-order? Whats that, you're going to wait until its in your local shop? And even then buy it in a credit card with buyer protection....

I'll be surprised if it ships. I'll be surprised if it works. I'll be even more surprised if its playable. And as for it being enjoyable - I'd be over the moon. But we all know its going to be a big steaming pile of poo.

Police DNA test plan to put off prostitutes' punters

Richard Jukes

Nice to know

Its nice to know that if these people whom use prostitutes will have their DNA and prints taken off the system if they are thusly found innocent of all charges. Just need the coppers to do that for other so called 'crimes' and innocent people.

Gamers raid medical server to host Call of Duty

Richard Jukes

Wot? Laggy? @ Daniel B

A ping time of 100 - 150ms is considered laggy but playable. Above that is is just unplayable. The lower the ping, the better an edge you have as your 'reactions' are quicker. I was getting 5ms on Virgin cable, now that was fun!

IBM super cleared for trivia showdown with humanity

Richard Jukes

wow

$100k for last place eh? Not bad for a few days work, even I could manage to finish last!

Bummed-out users give anti-virus bloatware the boot

Richard Jukes

Real men ride the internet bareback!

I think the above poster was quite correct and very aptly put it. I dont use AV. I hate AV. Funnily enough since I stopped using AV I have never had a virus detected.

Possibly because I do not have a program to detect it anymore, but quite frankly I dont open dodgy links or visit dodgy sites, I use my card details all the time and have never been defrauded either. In the words of Shakespear - Its a mucha ado about nothing.

BBC Online ordered to be more 'distinctive' as cuts kick in

Richard Jukes

Spelling?

Has anyone else noticed the terrible spelling and grammar of recent BBC news articles on their website? Not to mention that since the election it is hardly updated.

Gawker rooted by anonymous hackers

Richard Jukes

BOOBIES (it said I needed a title, Sarah, thats what you get for demanding!

24862486.

Anyone want to bet that its his PIN code repeated twice?

Fucktard!

Google advertisers howl over 'sudden quality score drop'

Richard Jukes

Yay

Yay, I got quoted in a Reg article :p

Im putting my money on it being a bug in a monthly batch process, it happend last month on the third weekend in the month, same this month. Of course the cynical among us could just assume that google are shafting us for more money because they can.

Most coders have sleep problems, need 'hygiene and care'

Richard Jukes

Aye

I fully agree with Michael C - programming is a job that it is nigh on impossible to wind down from, one is always thinking about the next problem and how to tackle it. Hence why I quit my Uni course and didnt go any further.

I do also agree that night coding is the best, when your mind is among nestled loops within loops within loops etc its good not to have any interuptions :)

DHS airport spooks stalk star hacker

Richard Jukes

Erm

You know the chap's in the shit when the custom agents boss's boss phones..... Bend over and take it, one either lives within the system and plays by the rules or one lives outside of the system. I quite like civilisation, so whilst I dont agree with such abuse of power - one is not left with much choice unless I wish to live on a hippy commune and listening to Sun Moon II talk about how one day all the earth will be at peace...

Cyber cops crush plod-snapper site following Millbank riot

Richard Jukes

Erm.

The education sector is the last industry in Britain that we can monetize. Its one of the best educational systems in the world, and its quite simple - you get what you pay for. Why on earth should Uni's not charge market rates? Combine this with burserys and grants and I cannot see why we can not have Uni's for dumb rich people, and Uni's for smart poor people.

Dumb poor people, well they are just fucked aint they - but Im guessing that university is perhaps not the best place for them.

11.6in sub-notebooks

Richard Jukes

Thinkpads all the way.

I'd rather splash out £200 on an IBM X61s off ebay, pretty much the same spec and I can spend any left over cash on a decent SSD and more RAM. Honestly, you only need to use a proper Thinkpad (not the e100 jobby) once to be converted.

Wikileaks founder denied Swedish residency permit

Richard Jukes

Because

Because its a game, no one in charge really wants him to move to Sweden and thus have some legal protection to stop them taking down Wikileaks servers. Hence the rape allegation, that gives them something to 'look into' and a reason to turn his application down.

Action gamers make better drivers, soldiers, surgeons

Richard Jukes

Its really rather simple.

Motorbikes do not have enough wheels. They have two wheels, thats two less than is preffered and one less still than is required. Yes, Motorbikes may be fun, they may be fast, they may even be exhilarating, but there just is not enough room to ride on safely on the road now a days. On a bike everything including balance and timing must be perfect - hard to do when the streets are full and other cars are pulling out into ones path. Especially the speed some bike owners tend to do...

They are fun, they can even be safe. But statisticly speaking, at somepoint while driving be it a car, bike, truck or van one does and will have an accident. One accident within 25 years of riding can be one too much.

It's alive! Duke Nukem Forever breaks out of vapour trail

Richard Jukes

Erm

Heard it all before, like someone else said its been over hyped for far too long. I bet its a big steaming pile of crap. But what do we do if it actually is released? What will we then ridicule and use a bench mark to indicate just how likely a release date is going to be?

Nandos 'village bike' ad not sexist, rules ASA

Richard Jukes

Erm,

I like boobs, however they are nigh on useless when it comes to advertising - put a decent rack on the telly and no man will tell you what the actual advert was for...

On a related note; Sarah...get 'em out for the lads!...

Diesels greener than electric cars, says Swiss gov report

Richard Jukes

Sod the MPG!

Sod the MPG and environment. Its all about the money, and not paying money to the government/oil companies is great. Im saving my money for that 640hp Electric Mini that PML are working on. It was on the Reg a few years ago, 640hp, four wheel drive and a 0-60 time of under 5s. Now thats a car, I neeeeed it.....

IT engineer fights spider with improvised flamethrower

Richard Jukes
FAIL

Bah

I also cannot see why he had to go to hospital....Madness.

Also I personally find a can of WD40 (or GT85) works a treat, one doesnt even have to light it. Instant mini oil slick for instant insect death!

VW to eliminate worst road hazard: drivers

Richard Jukes

I can see.

I can see quite a lucrative future retrofitting older cars with electric motors. People drive because they need to and also because they like to. I like to have a 30 minute drive home after work, it lets me wind down and its fun.

Twitpic pulls 50 Cent bum burger snap

Richard Jukes

Royale with Cheese

That's one tasty motherfucking burger, where did you say it was from again?

Danish rocketeers poised to reach for the skies

Richard Jukes

Erm

There is no bloody was I would get in that thing. I hear Tom Cruise likes to fly, perhaps he's up for it? They could film it then and make a movie out of it, and with any luck we'll be minus one Tom Cruise.

The submarine however, well that looks fun :)

Nokia Siemens slammed for supplying snoop tech to Iran

Richard Jukes

Im tempted...

Im tempted to say that this is more shit happening to some guy I dont know in some country really far away that I dont care about.

However, viva democracy. Any country that gives someone a beating and locks them up because said person bad mouthed the ruling elite or indeed anyone is not exactly fair...Its on the steep road to facism.

And Iran could be developing Nuclear Weapons? Scary. What would they have done if they had had Nuclear Weapons when certain papers were publishing cartoons about Mohammed? It does make one wonder.

Opera: Firefox tab sets? We've had 'em for years

Richard Jukes

Erm

I dont use Opera because it looks ugly. And it makes websites look ugly. That is all.

Orange coughs to data network failure

Richard Jukes

No problems here

We are not having any problems here, its working fine in Walsall. Never really had any problems with orange mobile broadband - it may take two attempts to connect sometimes but it usually always works.

3 on the other hand....well lets not get me started about them.

Sunday Times avoids punitive damages over unauthorised Hendrix CD

Richard Jukes

So when is it released?

So when is the film released? I would go and see it :)

How an ancient printer can spill your most intimate secrets

Richard Jukes

Interesting

Interesting and Im glad some chap has had a brainwave, sat down and worked it out - alas while it is a nice bit of thinking I cannot see any pratical use for it. I myself use dot matrix printers at work to print out hire contracts on carbon copy paper - it certainly wouldnt be the end of the world if someone found out what was being printed...

Still, its nice to know it can be done!

Virgin and Ubisoft team up for tournaments

Richard Jukes

well...

I think its a great idea, maybe it will catch on more and who knows even watching live championship games may be in the distant future. Its certainly worth a £1m gamble by a man who's company Virgin Media is 4 or 6bn odd in the red.
