Re: Defender is not AV
But Defender is a piece of crap. It has some of the lowest rankings of AV software out there.

Nothing but rumors.
Wold it be odd for Apple to have 2 major product releases in about a month or so and nothing again for 11 months?
Support at apple and the child labor in China must be booming to support and crank out these gadget.
Would make more sense to release the iPhone in the spring and iPad in the fall as the iPad is something people want to give for the holidays...
I agree. Can you be occupied if you don't have the army [or police] in your land? The Gaza has its own [corrupt] version of a government. Everything from police [if you can call them that] to health to education. doesn't sound like occupied to me.
While at it, you can't blame just Israel for their problems. Egypt has also blocked Hamas/Palestinians from leaving Gaza on their border as well as goods going in and out.
Why on earth did Google spend money on the Android OS and then WASTE money on the Chrome OS. Android used by hundred of millions. Chrome OS - 5 people. Many, many, may applications for the Android. What is there for Chrome OS.
If I was given one of these Chrome paperweights, I'd format it and install Linux or even Windows 7.
These totals depend on where they companies dies their "research" and how they did it.
Worldwide, Samsung has double the amount of smartphones out there compared to apple [ http://www.idc.com/prodserv/smartphone-market-share.jsp ] but Apple sells more in the US [ http://www.comscore.com/Insights/Press-Releases/2014/6/comScore-Reports-April-2014-US-Smartphone-Subscriber-Market-Share ] . If you do the math you will find that while the iPhone 5S sells more than any individual phone it is primarily because Samsung has too many models. Was actually surprised to see the iPhone 5C market share quite high considering it didn't get a good reception.
Dell, HP, IBM/Lenovo, and others are rubbing there hands thinking about all the servers they will sell. Problem is than many larger places have Server 2003 in a VM. Where I work, I wouldn't be surprised if 75% of the servers are in VMs. Only thing maybe needed is a new host server or 2 to divide the extra horsepower needed.
Unlike the old days [by coincidence when Jobs was alive], there was so much hype about a new Apple gadget. Every day [it seems] someone would released what they thought was accurate information [a good chunk was actually false]. Those days are gone. Now it's more like "A 5.5" screen. OK. What's for lunch?"
Windows 8.1 "Update" [as named by Microsoft and not "Update 1" has been out for 3 months. Now you're showing off?
That said, in a month will be "Update 2" but only minor enhancements.
A possible "Update 3" may come out sometime early next year. Either that release or Windows 9 will feature a full Start menu - very similar to Window 7, but the right side of the menu ["Documents", "Pictures", etc.] will use Windows tiles.
Nope. Separate from the OS.
By default it will "protect" various Microsoft applications, plus Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Java, and I think a few others. These are included because they are common to attacks.
If you want to apply it to heavy vulnerable applications like Google Chrome, you have to add it.
Bunch of dummies. You're leaving the company. they can't enforce it. They're trying to do a quickie there.
I worked for a major multi-national [now broken into pieces] that normally gave a month severance for every full year of service. Unfortunately in my jurisdiction, severance isn't guaranteed. In addition a labor law did say that since it was a layoff they could hire anyone in a similar position for up to a year. So, they said sign the waiver to kill the labor law or you get no severance. I didn't give a crap. I signed. Took them 11 months to hire a "replacement".
As long as the clause doesn't stop him from making a living and is not tough, I can't see the guy winning this case. He signed the clause when he started to work at Amazon and most companies have "exit interviews" where they generally discuss the clause.
It makes no difference what kind of agreement the guy has with Google. it is Amazon's clients and data that are the issue.
I think the law in some form should be in place.
Which reminds me. If not passed, will people go around with contracts that state something like:
"On July 2 at 17:31:12 on Fleet Street in London, I Lindsey Lohan, knowingly posed nude for Justin Bieber. He may not post any pictures [or modifications there of] on the Internet, in an email, in a text message, on TV, in a book, in a newspaper, in a magazine or similar media without my knowledge."
Bieber's version: "I promise to do nothing - at any time - because I'm good at it."
Now I know why I don't use anything from Google [where possible]. Add to the fact that Google electronically reads your mail so it can place ads in the Gmail pages that uses key words that came from your mail.
And now this.
Remember when Google cheated by creating a Google+ account automatically when you created a Gmail account? Few didn't even know their life was showing up in a Google+ page.
