... who can't think for themselves will pay to see this dribble.

...in "fanboi". Yep, those of us that use other than Apple products are certainly poor, uneducated buffoons, but we are poor, uneducated buffoons who chose for ourselves. We are free to f**k up all we want and that's how I for one want it. If I f**k it up; I fix it up. Unlike Apple's Lemmings that simply follow the leader and give up that bit of personal decision making freedom.
The cost to make it 100% unbreakable is likely on the order of tens of times more costly to make it say, unbreakable for 99.99% of the population. But then what does that matter? Apple fanatics will pay whatever the cost simply because they will pay whatever the cost. Imagine what they could charge if The Sacred J actually spit on each one. Or maybe even ... well...wont go there.
Oh the marketing potential! Record the various J sounds and have them available as ring tones and so forth. You know, coughs, hacks, spitting up a plug, farting. Just boggles the mind and to think they could probably surpass Microsoft in sales. Oh wait. they already did that for a nanosecond. They'd need to capture the sound of J having sex maybe. But then who cares about fap, fap, fap .... ?
MB is fun but it's no where scientific proof of anything. For that to happen, there has to be verification coupled with the ability to consistently repeat the experiment and get the same results. Mythbusters is just a bunch of comedians doing stuff for the fun of ot with no attempt to ever have the results verified. That makes everything they do pure shit.
... just replace the power supply? Could it be the case the power supply is poorly matched to the needs of the computer and is therefore overheating because it's underrated for the battery's needs?
If the battery circuitry is simply drawing more than the supply is designed to provide, a BIOS update is not going to fix that. This seems soooooo similar to Apple's iPhone 4 fix for the wrong number of signal strength bars being displayed. Good fix for the wrong problem.
Any underrated power supply is going to overheat on any electrical device, computer or not. All sounds frelling fishy to me.
... the difference between a "living room" and a "parlor". After all, he is the quintessential geek with no use for a parlor.
In most homes I'd believe the "living room" of today is wherever the computer sits; the parlor (if there is one) is where guests are met and entertained. But then, if the guest is computer savvy, or even apple products savvy, the evening is spent in the computer room, nee the true living room.
" — especially from all us stateside iPhone owners still lumbered with Cupertino's iPhone-exclusivity contract with AT&T. "
So it was more important for you to have the device than an acceptable carrier? Cosmetics is therefore higher priority than function.
Never trust anybody who puts form above function. Remember, the Hindenburg had great form, so did the Titanic, but function was a tad lacking in both cases.
Paris because Paris exemplifies form over function.
Why would anybody (you did say "anybody") double click on file? Maybe because 90%+ of Windows users are not geeks and simply do what they've seen done before. How about because it's just a computer. It's not important to them like maybe the launch codes for a nuclear tipped ICBM or their bank account balance even. Maybe you forgot, but the geeks of the world exist to make the toys of common users work. Maybe time and time again, but that's what the shops and departments are for: "make my computer work. I have to go ____________ so I'll be back in a couple of hours to pick it up."
RE: ' Microsoft wonk Ashley Brown said that US customers who splurge $149.99 on the pack would be given three upgrade licenses of the Windows 7 Home Premium edition of the software.
“To take advantage of Family Pack, you’ll need a PC running a genuine copy of either Windows Vista or Windows XP that is capable of running Windows 7,” Brown said. '
So on October 3rd it'll become possible to upgrade XP to Windows 7? May not be what he meant, but that's exactly what the quoted comment says.
The author must live "in da 'hood". Pitiful use of language aside, how many of us haven't wanted to do this? Of course I wanted to be fully sober and aware to enjoy the well deserved carnage.
And another thing, "calibre" means 1/100 of and inch. Properly, 45 calibre means .45 inch whereas .45 calibre means .0045 inch. a .0045 inch bullet would be, what, a human hair or something of similarly small diameter? Oh hell just call it the 11.43 x 23 and be done with it.
A singing bobble-headed plastic Jobs for the dashboard of your car.
"I don't care if it rains or freezes
'Long as I got my plastic Stevies
Riding on the dashboard of my car.
Through my trials and tribulations
And my travels through the nations
With my plastic Stevies I'll go far."
This works. Just move it closer, say within arm's length, and all is well. Why you can even make the screen smaller since it'll be so much closer. But for me this is a waste of time and effort. If I want a computer right at my fingertips, I'll just use my netbook. No screen smudges either; fewer chances of scratches too..
The Sacred J just can't stand it. Somebody bigger than he made a decision he doesn't like. So now the cry baby is going to take his bat, ball and glove and not play. Like cockroaches, he'll never kill them all. But he has to try because like Pavlov's dog he just jumps at the chance to be psychotic and manipulative.
Juck Fobs and the mule he rode in on.
Re: "As always, mobile phone users can protect themselves by only visiting websites and using wifi networks they trust."
How the hell do you determine if you should trust a given wifi network? Kind of like how you learn about hot water. Until you actually get burned the first time you're totally ignorant, but once you do get burned you connect the steam and heat radiated with pain.
If you're going to make comments like this moron did you at least need to recommend how to do what you say should do. Otherwise you're just one more web junkie passing out worthless advice while having the feel of an educated idiot who needs and craves self aggrandizement.
Methane from "natural" sources has been used for decades to fuel various engines. Problem is the economies of scale are not there so they've been oddities and very small scale ventures. Never has been a force and never will be in the near future. Give it 500 years when all coal reserves are fully depleted and it might actually become something.
... the business is silk screening T-shirts or some such artsy-fartsy thing. The business world is still overwhelmingly Windows. Institutions of "higher" learning are not the business world since even the business office is still within the great womb of the universtty.
