Home Sec: Web snoop law will snare PAEDOS, TERRORISTS

Andrew Moore

Re: This is insane.

More importantly, what's to stop the paedophiles working in the government and GCHQ from accessing the emails and web traffic of innocent children???

Andrew Moore

hmmmm...

"Only suspected terrorists, paedophiles or serious criminals will be investigated," said the Home Secretary.

So their out is, everyone will be a suspected terrorist, paedophile or serious criminal. Until proven otherwise.

I love the word SCOTUS, it's just one letter off of SCROTUS. Which is how I always read it.

Likewise- I haven't set foot in the US since March 2000. But since then I've had some fantastic holidays in BC. Good food, good beer, great people.

Better still...

Microsoft/Nokia are currently trumpeting its App Store on TV. And what's the only App shown on the advert? The Groupon one.

Andrew Moore

Re: Massively dodgy.

I make a note of any restaurant that pop-up on Groupon, it's usually a sign that the eatery is on its last legs and should be avoided at all costs.

Vote now for the WORST movie EVER

Andrew Moore

Re: Late entry ... Just saw it three days ago: Spielberg's "War Horse".

It's better to think of it as 'The Curse Of The War Horse'. Anyone (other than the original owner) who spent any amount of time with the horse died.

Re: so bad this one is BRILLIANT

I loved Black Sheep, it's hilarious (sometimes intentionally so).

A Thousand Words...

Looks like this poll could be a bit premature. Critics are saying that Eddie Murphy's latest shitfest 'A Thousand Words' is the worst film ever made and looks set to sweep the Razzies this Sunday.

I found it quite easy. I downloaded it last Thursday and a day later I'd finished all levels at 3 stars each. Now the app's asking for another 99c to load in another stage.

Re: A laser eye???

it's cheaper than getting an IMU, which would be the logical solution ;)

I just checked with the OS, they have a GNSS station in Inverness so you should be able to get a feed from there. However you need something a little beefier than DGPS (like MAX).

Andrew Moore

A laser eye???

Put a rotating laser on the top of the lawnmower and (at least) 3 prisms in strategic places and then triangulate of them.

Otherwise, stick a total station in 'track' mode, whack a 360 degree prism on the top of the lawnmower and have the local station continually relay the position back to the lawnmower.

Of course, neither of these solutions are any use on undulating terrain.

The new Facial Recognition system is no better...

Went through Heathrow last night with my family and there was a major delay at the new facial recognition system. It took ages to capture and process the pictures and when it did, it got the results wrong- It recognised my wife as my 5 year old daughter and visa versa. Now why the original images where not attached to the boarding card, I don't know. Each card was scanned and then the picture taken. What the system should have done was match the 'front' and 'back' end pictures and returned a matching percentage, rather than searching through the database of all pictures taken and trying to find a match.

Still we had a great laugh about it with the immigration officer.

Have reviewers leave contact details (verified the same way Google Business verifies real data) and make them aware that these details can be released to (authenticated) businesses that they have reviewed. Those that agree to this can have a 'Trust' icon placed next to their reviews.
