The computer world is moving 3D into everything these days so that nVidia 3D issue is a killer. This needs to be addressed in an update. Everything I do involves 3D at some point. I can't work without it. Unless something is done about it I have to avoid usage of this Ubuntu entirely.

Isn't supply and demand the cornerstone of capitalism?

When customers demand a product that already exists over another and that maker of that product refuses those customers then stops selling it at a time it's out selling the other choice there is something other than supply and demand taking place.

If their business is not about supplying the demand then what is it really about?

Windows Vista has been battered, says Wall Street fan

tempemeaty
Alien

All your data are belong to us

Vista is Microsoft's method of forcing a world wide hardware industry out of business. By using it's new OS architecture as an excuse to force hardware to be emulated in software for the ultimate end to reduce all functions to a on CPU function. Once this is achieved the computer is reduced to nothing but a near thin client. At that point all the same functions can be done by a Microsoft server and not on the computer itself thus the completion of putting of 90% of consumer hardware based technologies, out of business, putting all processes into Microsoft's control on it's servers instead of the users own machine. This gives Microsoft complete control over all user data, all computing, and they can charge any price for your access to it. You can have access to your data if you subscribe and they have the power of saying no to anything you do.

Ultimately people don't like it and it's no surprise any OS that takes a step toward taking control away from it's users and a global industry in any way will be met with Resistance. No matter what you believe we want our computers to be whole and remain in our control to be used at our own discretion.

Great news. Now...CPU?

I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want I want ..... *(^o^)*

Ok that said I hope the board offers more of their faster CPU's. I've read at times they've sold faster CPUs to corporate partners than the ones sold in the mass market boards. I wouldn't compromise the low watt lead offerings they have on them but their faster CPUs(if still lower in watts than others) would serve well to be offered on the mass boards as well.

Thank you VIA for the Video slot. That's the single most thing I've been in need of on that form factor. I hope it's addition pays off.

BTW. I would like to see a low watt "multi-core" VIA CPU and a Mini-ITX 2.0.

Dell sales go 'over there'

tempemeaty

Good luck

It's going to really suck when the Chinese cut off outside sources of PC engineering and all the western companies that provided it. China demands that it's people and companies provide. When they can then outside sources are restricted or cut off entirely. China's engineers will be good enough for to satisfy the Chinese Gov's demand for this in the near future. To the western companies...good luck. You are going to need it. I just hope you haven't totally burned your bridges at home.

Apple update trick triples Safari share

tempemeaty
Thumb Down

I remember the last time...they used it to slip everyone a DRM.

Great trick. I have also one. * fwip* That's the sound of me closing my wallet.

Anyone remember that this is how they slipped in a DRM that hosed a lot of computers. That was a gift not asked for. Well what's to come of it is not good for the Apple's over all market share. My suggestion to the slip-tards/update-tards at Apple is to stop slipping things covertly by use of the update right here before they lose their momentum in the market because this is sure to kill it if they go this one more.
