Remember the Truespace 3D graphic program? MS bought that company. It's gone now...
Well Adobe has had a good life...bye bye....

I began to read and one thing suddenly stood out. As much as you expect tablets to be a big new direction of things there stands one big issue. Right now as far as I've seen the Android and Apples OS for iPad can't run the Windows based or even Mac OSX "productivity" applications you need take with you on the go.
I deal with tech support and continue to see people need that keyboard net books have that tablets do not. People need that ultra portable net access that lets office work get done on the fly without the heft and bulk of typical laptops getting in the way. Once the initial "oh shiny" effect of a new product being introduced has passed I think tablets and netbooks will continue to both come along nicely. In the end tablets seem suited for entertainment and netbooks better suited for productivity work. Both those needs are not going away. I think both are hear for the foreseeable future.
The ability for those with some computer sophistication to circumvent draconian Gov rules does not give the Gov a pass on committing oppression against it's the people within it's boarders.
If the other corporations cave into this Gov behavior then those companies can go play with themselves. I will point it out at every opportunity and the fact we should do everything in our power to avoid those companies products. If they support such Gov behavior in other countries then those companies would also support our Gov doing the same to us right here at home.
There is a pretty large number of computer users who can't buy new computers and run old/used ones. I've encountered the fact that all the new browsers scan for the OS type and will bail on the install on the older browsers leaving the users of these somewhat older computers up the creek without a paddle. Therefor creating web-mail that is only compatible with the latest browsers in the last 9-12 months are going to lock out a huge number of web surfers. It's sort of and elitism when you think about it. If you can't afford the latest kit of the year no email and limited surfing for you. This leaves the Internet for only the well to do. Good way to keep the advantages of the Internet out of the hands of those at the economic bottom of things and keep them at the economic bottom.
Reading this and remembering Yahoo is going in for using the MS stuffage in place of their own got me thinking. Most the average every day non-techy people I know using Yahoo for email and searches do so to get away from or avoid using Microsoft's stuffage. I wonder how many do this over all and if the coming changes will result in further drops in usage of Yahoo over all.
First they want to GPS track you and let all their partners have the information. Now they want to incorporate reading and using tractable RFID into buying and selling. Consider other corporations want to use RFID in the tagging and tracking you I have to say Apple has come out with another piece of the puzzle in the overall larger plan for us. NO, I will not be tracked or be expected to use or carry tracking RFID chips on my person that can be read by multitudes of devices or be EXPECTED to carry and use such devices in order to read RFIDs to get prices on products or to buy them. I will NOT buy products that use this technology.
I'd be daft to develop anything for a OS who's maker can just reach in at anytime and remove any application they want so Android's out as a choice. And the iPhone...weeellll...Apple's sharing user GPS locations rules out that as an option as well now that Apples practice of doing that has caught gov. attention for it's violations. I wouldn't want that liability issue coming back on me for supporting it. As they say...poop splatters...
I stopped using Microsoft's OS when I found out it had build in user data collection and MS admited to doing it after it was discovered. I avoid Google like the plague because of it's user tracking and all their shenanigans collecting wifi mac address plus passwords and such. As authorities around the world continue their abusive behaviors toward the populations everywhere this tracking tech in products shouldn't be tolerated.
I hope every shipment of these phones from China sinks in the ocean.
I don't know if it's gray-market control or not. If so it could be understandable. What is truly glaring is that Apple is a corporation who's product is a COMMUNICATION technology product and Apple does such a POOR job of just that...COMMUNICATION...to it's employees and the customer both at times.
Gads, Mr Jobs your a marketing genius...so how about fixing this. Sheesh.... 9_9;;
It was a great way to leverage w2k users out of that OS. Now the same with Win XP. MS needs your data for their Trusted Partners and Win XP just doesn't collect it like Vista and W7 does. No I don't want big brother tracking my computer activities. For those who don't know google it. Your being tracked when you use Vista and W7. MS can stuff it. Have fun with IE9 on your fully tracked and monitored OS.
Prediction. The whole conflict has been a smokescreen. The real plan is for Google to hand over it's technology to the Chinese via a "Chinese Firm" so that the filtering can go forward without Google being looking dirty. End of the deal is that Google can claim they're not doing it and China keeps it's control over it's portion of the internet blocking, filtering and tracking of the internet and it's citizens who use it.
It no longer matters what we think. Google wants to stay and continue to maximize the exposure to getting their technologies stolen. This problem will take care of itself. China will get all the relevant tech they need from Google and then make being in China difficult for them. Google will then find themselves competing against China and their own technology.
Well if MS can't produce *desirable software then at least they can stay afloat as a patent troll. LOL.
* I find OS's and any software(Vista) that harvest user data by companies that also refuse to fully disclose _all_ of what data is harvested yet sell that data to other companies highly undesirable.
RIght about the US Gov not investing in the future. The Gov just shot down NASA from going forward with projects that would have created new technologies. It takes new technology for the future and the Mars and moon missions the US Gov stopped would have brought that. Yup the US is doomed to be the next third world if something about it's falling tech sector.
"IF" it's true about the root kit cause then the next question(s)...
More than one root kit?
"WHO's" root kit(s)?
Hackers? Corporate ones? Both? We already know a certain Corporation, caughsonycaughcaugh, did it to it's customers willingly before...get were I'm going with this? Has some other corporation(any) committed an act of root kitting it's customers also. Has this patch stumbled upon it?
