Nuisance

Yuck. On my widescreen monitors I've got tons of wasted space to the grey bars. I could deal with the ads being bigger if you hadn't forced me to the fixed width. I'll give it a chance, but first brush with it has left me disturbed and annoyed. I may have to shop around for a new tech news site if it bugs me too much.

My paypal account is clear

No charges I didn't make. Of course, I use the security key in addition to a password just 'cause I'm paranoid.... :) While not perfect, at least it's another layer of security.

@Chris C

If monitoring my PC's power consumption is any indication, the graphics card uses power variably. I've noticed changes in consumption between just having the desktop / office applications running versus running an FPS or MMORG game. I'll have to watch and see if the consumption drops further when the screen blanks (power meter is only hooked up to the PC, not the monitor).

China and language

Whether or not China does end up ruling us all, it probably is no bad thing to learn Mandarin - after all, they make up at least 1/6th of the world population, do they not?

Where's the money...

Simple. As an Ohioan affected by this, I can easily tell you - the State of Ohio has offered "free" commercial credit fraud /identity theft protection to everyone affected. They are paying for a year's protection and it seems pretty comprehensive.
