"However, it also announced assets and liabilities worth upwards of $1bn" Good one Register, that would be potentially the same statement as zero equity then ?

Outrageous

If this story proves true, the Ohio police and FBI should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Broadband minister's fibre cabinet gripe snub sparks revolt

Lets give westminster council something to really do for a living.

Since Westminster (bubble) council has not much serious business on its hands, can we not site an incineration plant or new breed of nuclear reactor there ?

Reality check Everyone

How weird is this. We need a reality check people. Virgin are only interest in high density areas. Always have been and never will alter from that path. BT provides a national service because we, the people, built the infrastructure prio to BT's existance as a private company.

Faster broadband for free?

Work a treat

How the BBC plans to save your ISP

Unhappy

Stuff and nonsence

Oh dear oh dear..

Another crazy example of the BBC trying to diversify from its core objectives. Let the ISP's figure out how to get content to the consumer. The last thing I want is the BBC wasting more of my cash on things they know very little about. I quite happily get BBC streams on BT Vision. BT/Virgin and all other the other ISP's have the experience in doing this stuff.

But out BBC, and watch my words when I say that it will only be a matter of time before the BBC petition the government that we all should pay an internet license!

Thumb Up

BT rate changes

Sounds fair to me. Why should people who make no commitment on a contract get the same level of discount as those who do commit. It just seems like simple economics.

"the traditional telcos don't seem to be providing a much better service these days..."

Unfortunately, the Registers "unbiased editorial checker" program was down again today. So daft ill considered comments like this are getting through by unqualified journalists.
