Poor take-up of e-tax system

John Parker
Unhappy

I tried it...

... and it was very bodgy, there was some kind of PDF template I had to download and fill in. Whenever I got it the end, it would not let me submit it due to "missing fields". After lengthy dialog with their "support" (a bored, non-technically literate lady, who didn't know what a PDF was)... we concluded it was best if I submitted it via the post as normal.

Hmmm....

@Jesus - "U-turn"

For the more seriously addicted alcohols with a very high daily intake, if they were to simply stop drinking overnight (U-turn as you put it), there's a moderate chance they could actually die from the withdrawal symptoms.

merging networks...

"It's being developed so that clients for .p2p downloads are able to handle .torrent files too."

If they mean that you could have a file on the future p2p client, and it can be getting some parts from ed2k users and some parts from bittorrent users, to build the complete file, then that is very cool.

A great many more sources, especially on "new stuff", such as recently aired American TV shows.

Whois database targeted for destruction

We're all minions

All the admins who collectively run the internet, via their distributed-computig brains, need whois as a service, to sort out the administrative side of things. Most small/medium website owners are bewildered by even the menton of DNS...

Ditch whois, and it's all a bit buggered really.

Re: How...?

Check out "419 eater" on google... it's a site where people bait the scammers, pretending to be taken in by the ruse, then publish the finished bait on the forums. Most education :)

Those were the days...

I miss being a long haired unwashed geek who lived on bergers and pizza...

So, what's the first rule of Reg Club?

John Parker

Thou shalt not post really bad quality English

Example: "i dont think that some one should have to text there personal details, in case the company looses them"

If people are posting from abroad; cool. If it's just a hapless UK fool who's wandered onto El Reg and decided to post some malformed English, stuff 'em :)
