Mozilla's opt-out Firefox DNS privacy test sparks, er, privacy outcry

teknopaul Silver badge

Re: Interesting

Me too.

Neither google borg nor cloudflare.

My isp knows where I go anyway. So hitting their first dns does not add any more data leaks and probably does not go out to the Internet as much. Plus caching helps with that.

Mozilla have really lost their way of late.

teknopaul Silver badge

So does this mean that systems can be built where, instead of only moving data from on chip registers into the processor, data from anywhere within "a few kilometres" can be moved in to the processor at the same speed? I. E. No need for map reduce or sharding?

teknopaul Silver badge

Agreed, and the flip side of that is who would want to compete in a market with 2% paying customers, and a large established market leader.

Dropbox looks strangely stable on that context.

@teknopaul Thank you for a well-reasoned and useful post. These are becoming too rare these days and these types of contributions are exactly what Mozilla needs to hear.

Google Chrome: HTTPS or bust. Insecure HTTP D-Day is tomorrow, folks

One perfectly good reason is that you are publishing HTML dont have any tracking cookies and have nothing at all to hide and dont have enough viewers to be a target.

If DNA testing was involved in the conviction I dont even presume they are guilty.

Nodejs badly needs a standard library.

Trouble is node does not make money and npm corp. (Presumably) does.

Node was built on community engagement via npm so nobody wants a stdlib but still it cant be pit off forever.

Both Debian and Redhat provide curated libraries. That is a good start if you find npm a risk.

Depends how you define intelligence.

Number one on google is "the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills."

Current AI techniques and applications can be called artificial intelligence by that definition.

If you define intelligence as "creative thinking" then maybe not.
