If you’re working in some hideously inefficient corporate borg environment where every line of code is the result of endless meetings and moving goalposts and eventually trying to extract some tiny hint of value from a huge steaming pile, all overseen by layer upon layer of management and bureaucracy, then you might indeed wonder how something like this could have been produced by one (smart?) person in their spare time.

If every chunk of free software had some sort of “foundation” to supervise it, productivity would plummet.
