Flying cars and bikes
There have been several stories in El Reg about flying cars, and variants on that theme such as hoverbikes, going back to at least 2013. The various vehicles are announced, some commentards swoon over them, others indulge in massive snark, the swooners wax wroth at the infidels, and then nothing more is ever heard of the projects again. I suspect that the snarkers had it right, and the various projects, including, from memory, one produced by Google, were as impractical as they seemed. (I recall Slicing Dicing Blades of Death being mentioned several times, greatly upsetting the swooners.) Have any of the projects advanced? The Aero-X hoverbike was mentioned in El Reg in 2014, for sale to the public in 2017, for example. Wiki says that it ain't available yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aero-X I suspect that it, and similar efforts, will never be available. Does anyone have an opinion on the matter? Am I on the right track, or am I just another nattering nabob of negativity?
