The people who designed Ipv6 knew fully what the issues with Ipv4 were, and designed a system thatg could cope with them.

They spent years sorting out issues most people wouldn't have even thought of.

I agree that the address space is too large (as evidenced by them pushing /64's as a lan range for SLAAC to work) and there may be one or two things that you could argue are unnecessary, but frankly, this "ivory tower" / "loads of extra crap" bollocks that is prevalent on this site would be more suitable on a flat earth or climate change denial site.
