Unfortunately translations are now mostly bought by the procurement department, without input from the engineers or technical writers.
While I agree with your rant, I strongly suggest you re-read my post, as the problem of shoddy translations to English is already well over a century old. Translations from English used to be quite acceptable, mostly because they are/were done by people pretty fluent in English translating into their mother tongue.
