Linux is dead
It's difficult to think of where to start with this. Basically he wants to absorb as much as he possibly can into systemDreadful, And, in true Poettering style, he wants to take something that is SIMPLE, well understood, and STABLE, and replace it with something that is incredibly complicated, not fully understood by anyone except him, and (almost certainly) unstable and error-prone. And, of course, any errors that there may be won't be fixed because he's "too busy" or just "can't be bothered".
And I can't wait for the day when some glitch occurs that kills off /home directories en-mass the world over, and makes them unrecoverable.
I don't think it's any exaggeration to say that WHEN (not IF, because 99% of the linux distributors are sheep and can't think for themselves) this abhorrence makes it into mainstream linux, then ...well ...it's game over!
