Ah yes, but for the same total price you can either buy a Garmin or buy a new fitbit every time the battery needs recharging and throw the dead one in the dustbin.

I got a Fenix 3 HR back when they were "new" and it works flawlessly since for years and years. Before that I had a Forerunner something or other that also worked flawlessly for many years.

However, this is about the consumer throw-away garbage being, well, consumer throw-away garbage. You do get what you decide you want to pay for.
