Sadly History is messy, and not always "fair"
So we should celebrate those not-so-messy cases, where right and wrong are easily discerned and wrongs can be righted. For example the case where your dad's generation kicked off some islanders with the words "Unfortunately along with the birds go some few Tarzans or Man Fridays whose origins are obscure, and who are hopefully being wished on to Mauritius etc. When this has been done I agree we must be very tough and a submission is being done accordingly." I agree that not all wrongs can be righted (as a German, I have my particular historic perspective). But claiming ownership of islands half-way around the world -- simply because those natives didn't have the guns or newspapers to fight back is despicable. Even the Balfour declaration won't make that wrong a right.
