@tiggity Microsoft has been doing this for years.

The world is big and it takes a fleet of cars years to capture all of the roads globally.

Not easy and then you have to process the data.

Microsoft partnered with Navteq to do this.

Google got their start by buying Navteq's map data before Navteq thought about putting it online.
