You can say the same thing about FORTRAN, COBOL, PL/I, BASIC's various forms, C's various forms, etc. They are all still around and used in their various niches. Flavor of the month does not require they become extinct when the month is over. My definition of "flavor of the month" is what fad language entry level college computer programming courses use. In my high school (in the '70's), it was a form of Assembly. In my college (also in the '70's), it was PL/I.
