Doing the fashionable thing

A lot of what we do in this business boils down to whatever is fashionable. That might be the language du jour or the methodology of the moment. And everyone, to some degree, creates straightjackets for themselves, while most have some tool or method that happens to be their own signature hammer*.

So yeah, the frequent/frugal experimentation, proposed here, does strike a chord. I think too many teams end up doing Agile in a way that doesn’t serve themselves or their client. Monkey see; monkey do.

* Excel lovers are the worst offenders, in my experience.
