Zero arrests, 2 correct matches, no criminals: London cops' facial recog tech slammed

How can the AI be 'race agnostic' when the chosen places it's trialled are deliberately highly skewed against particular groups in society?

It can hardly be race agnostic if the sampling area is of a particular race/culture (due to historical links to their culture) i.e. Notting Hill.

It's 'in your face, deliberate use of skewed unreliable technology based on stereotypes' - aimed at creating an uncomfortable "hostile environment" to all those in attendance.

I don't even think it's about the effectiveness of the technology per se, it seems somewhat political, having that whiff of indirect racial slurs the use of such technology creates. (Theresa May {the gammon generation} way of saying their views without directly saying them)

It's headlined/transcribed to the media and designed to be unpleasant in its approach.

It's not subtle one bit regards racial slurs on sections of society.

It creates tension and undermines the community links that have been created over many years.

The approach and use of this facial recognition technology by the MET is utterly wrong.
