Spectre -- Failure of Application to Application Security
No one has mentioned a REALLY simple fix -- just take the CPU off the network!

This would limit the damage for workstations which only need network access some of the time.

Of course, if you are wedded to "the cloud", or are locked into web-based applications, or are using a Cloudbook, I guess you just have to wait for the CPU suppliers to fix their product.
