Pete and Repeat sitting in a tree...
I've heard this all before... "PCs are dead... long live game consoles.... PCs are dead... long live Tablets... PCs are dead... clocks beyond 3.8GHz are impossible... etc. etc."
This is just another speed bump and in 2 years you'll be touting how PCs are dead because of some TLS vulnerability that was found or some other "big threat" of the day.
This will slow them down for a few months (and of course after patching for MD and Spectre (Hail Hydra) everyone will "need"/want to upgrade to the new, secure, faster CPUs and Intel and AMD will laugh to the bank. Honestly, there hasn't been very much reason to upgrade for the past 4 years or so and so this will probably force some folks to do that now (once the new cpus come out).
Don't worry Henny Penny, it's just raining, you can go back inside.
