But this is true of any replica weapon, nothing special about airsoft here. Anything that could be mistaken as a real firearm is likely to be treated as one in the name of protection of the public.

Very true as demonstrated at Colgate University only a few months ago. Of course I have no doubt that skin tone also played a part even if it was to only escalate it from calling the police to bringing in SWAT and a tank¹.
