For sheer entertainment value, I'd like to point out that I actually do that all day every day*, and yes, that includes online purchases**, although somewhat predictably any adverse effects on banks and/or retailers have so far failed to materialise.

* Yes, I do have a card - several even. But to be honest, I think it's quite possible I have never paid for anything with plastic in person my entire life. Cash only. A friend of mine almost never pays with cash, so it's not for lack of opportunity - whatever, more power to him. Although I have to say he finds occasional tipping (or paying a cab) far more troublesome than I do.

** Yes, really. I just pay the courier who shows up with the package. In cash. Now, admittedly, international purchases are a different beast. Also, the sole reason I have any use for cards.
