Tinned meat, of any kind, is e-rations only. Tinned ham is worse than city ham, and city ham isn't worth eating.
Having eaten on 6 of the 7 continents, I can reliably inform you that North American meat is better than that in 90% of the world, and is easily the equal of the other 10%. It is certainly better than anything mass-market that I've ever purchased, cooked & consumed in Blighty.
