I have a theory that all computer programs of any consequence that are "Made in the USA " must have a suitable portion of attack surface for the spooks to gnaw on.
This is, of course, only a theory, shakily based on the constant calls by politicians for backdoors in crypto and the search for, and hoarding of, zero days etc etc. True or false, if I wanted to do something naughty and talk about it there are probably ways to do it reasonably safely, reliably and efficiently. The glory days of reading everyone's cables and listening to everyone's wireless are over.
