is about as quaint as remembering phone numbers.
What a silly statement.
You're mugged, phone, wallet and keys stolen. How are you going to ring your loved ones to let them know you're going to be late if you don't have at least one key number (eg "home") memorised? Or are you not so encumbered with the concept of "loved ones"?
As others have mentioned by now, DNS sometimes fails. Having some key addresses memorised helps.
