Windows 10 networking bug derails Microsoft's own IPv6 rollout

Scrap - no.

Kill some idiocies - yes.

In this order:

1. RA. Router advertisements (what MSFT is having an issue with) is an obsolete method of configuration. In the days of DHCP it is a solution asking for a problem.

2. Remove other (auto)configuration functions of ICMPv6, leave only the basics to match v4 subset.

3. Allow v4 DHCP to provide clients with v6 addressing and configuration information

4. Allow deterministic assignment of flow labels instead of mandating them to be random which in turn means you have to have an out of band signaling protocol to use them.

Optional:

5. ask everyone who opens his mouth about the sanctity of the end-to-end principle at the IETF to start their rants with a vested interest disclaimer providing info on which agency they take payroll from. It is sacred only for 3 letter agencies as it makes their job easier.

That is pretty much all it takes - it is not a lot. Most of it is trivial, obvious, makes sense and is opposed purely on techno-religious shamanism grounds.
