I agree.
JS looked promising 5-10 years ago but the much needed reform effort was derailed by the keep-it-broken contingent of web designers, and MozillaGate was probably the final nail in the coffin. This language missed its chance at greatness. Now it's a mainly a pollutant.
NoScript isn't enough BTW - you'll need uMatrix to selectively allow 3rd-party crap, not just JS, on a site by site basis. Still not really enough.
