I was that printer repair man! Well, not quite. Mine was a hospital telephone switchboard system configured to record all incoming and outing phone numbers and print them out. No one knew how to switch that function off and the printer had failed. The switchboard box could only store about 500 numbers. Not fixing the printer would have borked the entire hospital switchboard. I remember it being an Oki Microline 390 but not what the fault was except that it was a 200 mile round trip and it took about 10 minutes to fix it.
