While I can understand people's annoyance with American hegemony (childish and petulant comments notwithstanding) but what do you propose as an alternative? Sure America has done some pretty horrific things - they're well documented after all. Most big countries/empires have done the same or worse. But do you really think the alternative is better? For all America's arrogance they are a grown up democracy with a functioning legal system. Eventually most of their worst excesses are reversed by having to deal with the rest of the world and their own legal system. The alternative, the safety and security of Putin's Russia? The legal rights of Xi Jinping's China? Be careful of what you wish for, for you may get it.
