One of the worst parts of python lint, 80 character lines. Hateful. Otherwise fab language.
As for the 'C' without goto; the indented code method is the way I always did it too.
Readable, obvious, more testable - easy for humans to track and most importantly:
One function exit, just one - allows easy test/debug instrumentation macros etc.
