You erect a huge strawman saying "there will be other issues, so don't even bother to implement this measure".

NO - what we need to do is to use all available measures to cut down the size of the cyber war domain. C was a regression relative to ALGOL/Pascal/Ada/Swift. In addition to the issues listed, C has a major deficiency in integer over/underflows. Compare that to Pascal-style languages , where you can clearly define the valid range of a number. And transgression will lead to a defined program stop instead of a logic cancer that might open the possibility for covert subversion of your system by cybernetic attackers.
