...are due to typical C-style bugs (in C or in C++ code) like out-of-bounds access, use after free, double free and so on.

Now, if we can rid ourselves of 50% of all serious IT security issues, I do think it is worth changing the language used. But surely there is very serious inertia from C and C++ developers for reasons ranging from laziness to malice.

After all, dozens of billions are made every year attacking and defending in cyberspace. Livelyhoods depend on these exploits. And they don't give a damn that C-style coding endangers the multi-trillion dollar IT business.

All the sane, non-corrupt folks in IT and computer science SHOULD CARE, though. C is a rotten concept, let's call it out.
