I hate this
Hope I didn't make a mistake installing this patch on the day of release. Laptop has been on "Preparing to configure Windows" screen for at least 30 minutes. The spinner's spinning and the dot is moving so I hope something good is happening. Would be nice to have more info. Finally got tired of waiting and fired up desktop to complain. This is the only patch it's installing.... There has got to be a better way. Windows 7 SP1. Forget the exact specs on laptop but it's an HP w/dual-core AMD about 2.7 GHz and 8-GB RAM.
Edit to add: A slow install of updates occurred a few years ago just as the power failed. The UPS shutdown sequence began and there was no way to override it, so this PC lost power mid-update. What a cluster-xxxx that was.
