Ensuring privacy controls work is a critical part of ensuring that the operating system is ready for prime time. And, to me, it's far more important than making sure the graphics subsystem works, or that the Start Menu doesn't irritate me too much.

Perhaps that part isn't ready for testing, or is not the current test target? You seem to have forgotten who's shedule a beta runs to (reminder - it's not yours). How about you switch off that VM, and we'll tell you when it's safe to come out to play.
