And you've also indirectly criticised all Open Source - "ooh, you don't want to use Open Source if your products - otherwise the users won't know who to blame if something goes wrong".
Well, first of all, unless ALL of the OS is available it's not true Open Source (if you want true Open Source go to Jolla - they're doing it right), but let that be for the moment.
Your argument to sue the supplier would mean that a cock-up by Google would have to wind its way through multiple vendor channels until Google owns up it's up to them. If their speedy response to the EU demand to clean up their privacy policy is anything to go by, you will have had 2 phone upgrades by then anyway.
That fixes the issue too. Only YOU have then lost money, not those in charge of keeping your money safe.
