    Sounds very much like...

    ... Volume Shadow Copy and Remote Differential Compression, both baked into Windows (Windows Storage Server also has a Single Instance Storage service) for no additional cost...

    I suppose the hardware accelerated part is the difference here...?

    also more scalable, nobody in their right mind would run 100+TB file server off a windows (or generic linux for that matter) system.

    bluearc isn't a SOHO solution.

    Yesterday's technology today!

    D from NetApp...

    NetApp has had thin replication relying on only sending actual changed blocks - since it was first launched many years ago.

    It is indeed a very useful feature and good for Bluearc that they finally have it.
