    The "employee who bought the stolen goods has died since the thefts ceased"

    One thing for sure, he won't be charged or convicted and the company will be able to blame everything on him and get away blame free.

    Not even the U.S. government can bring back the dead.

    He should have just kidnapped the VP of EMC at gunpoint and ransomed him for the money instead, he would probably be facing less jail time.

      Actually Kidnapping some one and then ransoming them is one of the few things that will guarantee to get you life in the US. 25 to life . What mean by that is judge out here constantly give long terms for that . You would do less time for murder

        so, once they pay up you're better off if they don't make it out alive? kill someone and get a reduced sentence for bad behaviour?

        was a joke, but then i thought about what the US system is like, and unfortunately it seems that in the US if you commit a minor crime then you are far better off if you kill the witnesses - it won't make the slightest bit of difference to your sentence if you get caught, but it'll help your chances of getting away with it

    US sentences

    One thing I like about the U.S. is their long jail sentences. They keep serious criminals off the street for a long time so they can't raise kids. Here in the U.K., we like to slap people on the wrist, even when there are traumatised victims. If we made some room in our jails by decriminalising personal drug use, and created walk-in centres for drug fixes, we would have fewer drug-fuelled crimes, and prison space for longer sentences for other offences.

    Now, was that $1m based on list prices that no one ever pays, or deep discount prices the sales droids usually sell gear at? Realistic value: more like $150k.
