What is not so nice is that you can't expect banks to take this as a wake-up call. Their main security has been in obscurity and denial, or maybe paying off the victims. That's all there is to it, fancy tech notwithstanding. The automated infrastructure models are very much copies of a 19th century paper bank.

#1. How are they supposed to figure what the "correct rank" is supposed to be?
#2. Going to the government with the scheme is the same as telling the police you are going to rob a bank!? All proof they need to lock them up.
#3. What if the govt. plays "entrapment" and takes the bribe so that they can build a rapport with the criminals to eventually take them down?
