back to article Ireland gives Google traditional pogue mahone greeting

Google Maps Ireland went live yesterday, and it took the cream of Ireland's media just minutes to find the first pic of a pair of Dubliners baring their hairy arses to Mountain View's all seeing eye. The Irish Times found this pair of moon-bummed jackeens, who had ambushed the Google car on Dublin's Ballinteer drive. The car …

        Hmmm...

Now checking the same link from another computer shows a blurred image. Looks like Chrome was caching it when I posted it earlier.

    WTF?

    Budget 2010

They're just preparing themselves for Decembers budget, when we all get rightly shafted - "in the national interest"

Why are you showing us pictures of blokes backsides if you have pictures of hibernian bulgarian airbags? Hand them over!

    Thumb Up

    Thumbs Up... (Or Maybe not)

I take my hat off to the Lads... This is what everyone should do when this car is seen taking snaps, a world full of blurry streets will stop them in their tracks... BTW... Dun Laoghaire is not the main port for Dublin... Dublin Port is the main port for Dublin, by several orders of magnitude in trade and size..

    Blurring technology?

They seem to have confused face and arse.

  10. Nat Pryce

Google face blurring technology couldn't cope

It got confused between their arses and their faces and blurred the former, not the latter.

Maybe you can't blame Google for that...

    Credit where it's due

One of the lads was on the radio bragging about it first thing this morning, the Times had nothing to do with finding it out.

    Pointless

If this is what people feel they need to do to grab a bit of limelight, I feel sorry for them. If I worked at Google I'd have Photoshoped them out altogether and deny them any glory. Some people are just a waste of good atoms.

Dun Laoghaire is near Ballinteer Drive?

    It is in its arse.

    Questionable facts.

"Dun Laoghaire, the main port for Dublin"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_Port

"Approximatively two-thirds of the Republic of Ireland's port traffic goes via Dublin Port." How can Dun Laoghaire, which is about a 15 minute drive away from Dublin count as Dublin's main port?
