Lesson learned? Censorship is dumb thinking

For example, so sayeth all the crusades, some of which were quite adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It's actually quite appalling how those wily brownshirts infected daily life more and more in the run-up to the war. But they never were much traditional religion themed. That was just left over themes from the previous owner left in.
The real question is why google saw fit to shoot themselves in the foot that way. I think it might very well go on to hurt them a bit, at least down under, for a while to come.
