    What kind of idiot would give real personal data to register software they have ripped off? Unaware of the malware, they would have to believe they were handing their real personal information directly to the people they are ripping off.

      Nobody said they were worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, just that they were being sold for that price -- and the use of 'extortionate' implies a negative judgment of its own with regard to the value for money there.

    that MP3 trick must be illegal, thats gotta be textbook entrapment and extortion. also, given what the japanese are like with public shaming and suicide, i bet sooner or later that company is gonna have a manslaughter lawsuit on its hands..
