    Windows only? Useless for the scientific computing we do, then. Can't recommend these Dell boxes to the university's HPC group. Maybe that's a good thing?

    Couldn't agree more only ....

    The admin dept. has a special purchase arrangement, so I won't be able to choose an alternative. So, a WoW machine it is then. How foolish of me to assume the task itself was more important than the administration of it.

    FYI - this DELL Cray CX1-iWS offering couples Windows7 with HPC Server 2008. Current Cray CX1 resellers can indeed configure a comparable CX1-LC system (installed with either Linux or Windows HPC Server 2008).
