    99.5% 1 day 20 hrs downtime a year

    99.9% 8.5 hrs downtime a year

    99.995% 26 minutes downtime a year

    Important numbers to remember when your boss says "99.5% uptime sounds good enough".

      Get it in writing, and get him to acknowledge that he can't choose the days

      Also remind him that while the SLA is financially backed, you tend to only get the amount of money back that you've paid for the service.

      <99.5% (99.9% if you use the agreement) - 10% refund

      <99% - 25% refund

      <95% - 100% refund

      And the final thing to remember is that your SLAs need to be multiplied together to get your true "guarantee". If your AKS cluster has 99.5% guarantee and your DB has 99.5% guarantee then they're separate guarantees so your system could suffer 3 days and 15 hours and 58 minutes of downtime (if they were off at different times) and each component would still have made its targets

        And another point to remember is that if your crappy company website built on SharePoint 2010 is only ever visited by the companies monitoring servers, spiders and script kiddies and no one would notice it was down if you disabled the monitoring, uptime may be 100% but no one cares Aaron.

        And if you patched the damn servers and it wouldn't be 100% Aaron. It's not rock solid hosting its just a shite website Aaron. No one visits the website because the OS and SharePoint are more recent than the content Aaron.

    You missed out that Teams is also now showing 9 video feeds in meetings; at least on some tenancies/devices - my work laptop connected to a 23" ext. monitor started showing 9 yesterday, but my personal laptop (12" screen I think) using a charity's tenancy was still showing just 4 last night (although it may not have had chance to update).
