    Are you implying this is a company so busy suing people it doesn't bother to invest in new innovations, therefore relying on expensive legal teams to chase ever diminishing returns...

    Honesty counts for something

    They will "invest" in technology, but they will "fully fund" their legal efforts. At least the CEO isn't afraid to make priorities clear. You've heard the story about "I went to the fights last night, and a hockey game broke out." There must be a similar joke that involves the Rambus and SCO legal departments.

    Why yes, Stu Reeves, Rambus is a company so busy suing people it doesn't bother to invest in new innovations (commit to hardware, heaven forbid?), therefore relying on expensive legal teams to chase ever diminishing returns.
