I thought the SLAs for Faster Payments was something like 2hrs, although its usually much faster than that?

      Re: SLAs

The only limit in place is set by the Payment Services Directive, and is that any mobile, internet or telephone payment be received by the end of the next business day.

2 working hours, so if you sent it now (almost pub o'clock on Friday), then it would be within the SLA if it arrives by 11am on Monday.

Cheques are moving to a next day clearing cycle, so be prepared for the money to leave your account faster.

(In theory all cheques were meant to be through the image clearing service by the end of 2018, but there still problems with it)

And as it's always Friday somewhere in the world...

      Oh, wait, no.

It is Friday between midday Thursday and midday Saturday though (for those of us in GMT)

Temporary Inability To Send Users' Payments

You've got to hand it to the banking industry... their systems are so reliable that I can't remember the last time they had a TITSUP (this year!)

    Got Paid then charged

On Friday my customer paid in advance for some parts and the money was instantly cleared. I then bought the parts online. By Saturday I had a letter informing me I had gone overdrawn but they had made all the payments. By the way this cost £15.

So the letter writing and billing parts of Lloyds Bank are working with great efficiency.
