    Still remains expensive

We as ready for an IT Refresh but after doing the rounds we realise that Hyperconvergence remains a damned expensive solution for SMEs .

We were looking at a pair of VXrails , each with 3 nodes and 10gb switches. Even the entry level goes way beyond 200k..

      (Note: VMware employee)

6 nodes is not entry level.

VxRail is not the cheapest way to get HCI.

      See: https://blogs.vmware.com/virtualblocks/2017/08/28/fast-tracking-distributed-new-hci-acceleration-kit/

RAIL is great but if this is beyond your price, ask your Dell rep about vsan ready nodes and 10gb switches. Combined with Vmware HCI acceleration licensing, you should shave that cost significantly.

An advert for HPE's struggling SimpliVity business and non-existent Synergy business? Cool!

Please support truth in advertising by clearly stating the article was paid for by HPE.

it was written by one of our guys. Here's how it works: HPE buys ads, it wants its ads to appear around an article that isn't laying into HPE - and we lay into HPE a lot - so here's an article about HPE-related stuff with HPE ads around it.

It all supports the journalism we do every day.
