    Sounds just like Ofcom

"Ofcom, which has an obligation to CONSIDER responses but no intention of CHANGING its plans"

Its high, high time these unelected people with fixed ideas and no accountability to the public were relaced by proper, END-USER ELECTED people who lose their influence annually unless re-elected.

That's the only way we will stop OfCom implementing such clearly-lunatic concepts such as the very obviously wrong proposal that the company with the most money should be put in permanent control of a scarce and irreplaceable national asset.

Telstra is running HSDPA over the old EV-DO spectrum

Telstra very quickly transitioned its old EV-DO network to a new HDSPA network running in the 850MHz sqectrum. They still run 2G in 900MHz and 1800MHz.

    It's a good stratergy!

Offcom is generally a case of arse and elbow, if enough media outlets say that's what they plan to do there's a good chance Offcom themselves will believe it came from their own very confused orifices.

@Telstra is running HSDPA over the old EV-DO spectrum

for the very good reason of increased range, and therefore far less towers required.
